SLA Stereolithography
Stereolithography Creates a model from your CAD data by curing resin in layers with a UV laser, these layers are built up until your prototype is complete. The material we use in this process has ‘ABS’ type properties, for further info on materials download the technical data.
Our build platform size is 350mm x 350mm x 400mm. We can also build larger models by building a part at an angle, diagonally or in pieces and dove, tailing together.
Why Use It
Aesthetics - SLA is good for form, fit, and function testing. Parts produced are ideal for presentation models and finished to a high quality to replicate production parts. Clear parts can also be produced due to the resin that we run.
Accuracy - We can produce models in three tolerances +/- 0.15 mm, 0.1mm or 0.05mm this means that for critical dimensions and sub-assemblies your parts will fit together as on your CAD
Speed - a model similar in size to a mobile phone can
be produced in as little as 4-5 hours making tight
deadlines attainable.
What to consider
Functionality - Depending on the orientation of the build SLA prototypes can be fragile for a functioning prototype, if you require a mechanically functioning prototype.
