SLS Selective Laser Sintering
Selective Laser Sintering creates a model from you CAD data by sintering (melting) powdered plastic layer by layer, it builds up these layers to create you model. The materials we use in this process are ideal for fully functioning prototypes, for further info on materials download the technical data.
Our build platform size is 300x350x450mm We can also build larger models by building a part at an angle, diagonally or in pieces and dove, tailing together.
Why Use It
Functionality - SLS has excellent mechanical and thermal properties and can be used for snap fits, heat testing, live hinges and general product assembly.
Accuracy - We can produce models at +/- 0.2mm tolerance.
Direct Manufacture - Due to the mechanical properties and performance of the materials used in this process parts can be used as direct production parts once they come off of the machine. Reducing tooling costs and being able to supply a bespoke product.
What to Consider
Aesthetics - Features and surface details are reproduced in the model but not to the same quality of other prototyping methods, if you require a highly finished and
functional prototype.
Have you considered - Vacuum Casting?
